After graduating from the Surikov Academy of Fine art in Moscow, Russia Artist Tsegmad went on to become a teacher at the College of Fine art in Ulaanbaatar then Principal of the same school. Sinve 1986 his work as an artist has been displayed in locally as well as abroad in countries such as Yugoslavia (1986), Austria (1988, 1992), Norway (1990), France (1993, 1994, 2002, 2007, 2008), USA (1998, 2000), Japan (1989, 1994, 1996, 2003), Italy (1996), Spain (2006), Turkey (1999) and Korea (2011). Tsegmad is the winner of the UMA prize in 1992, “Leading Art Worker” presented by the Ministry of Culture in 1993, “Silver Belt” prize presented by the “Oron Zai” art association also in 1993, The State Prize of Mongolia in 1996, Top 50 work in 20th Century by criteria of Fukouka’s Asian Art Museum in Japan in 2000 and in 2007 he was named Academician of Mongolian Fine Art Academy.
